Use This Quarantine Time Wisely and Away from Social Media
USE THIS QUARANTINE TIME WISELY AND AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA
So, hey, what’s up and what’s down, readers? You probably think I am trying to be cool… and yes, I am. HAHAHA Okay, I am just trying to lighten up the mood because we all know that we are under the COVID-19 pandemic. This disease already claimed lots of lives in various countries, numerous people are tested positive of this disease, tons of people are under monitoring and investigation, and wide-range of places are under home quarantine.
It makes us sad thinking that there are already many people who died from this disease and there are people who are so worried that their lives might end soon because they are positive of this disease. And, admit it or not, most people are sad because this COVID-19 cancelled so many plans, ruined many events, and deprived us of so many chances, opportunities and experiences because as what I’ve said, we are under home quarantine, where the national government and LGUs are preventing us from going out often from our houses, implementing so many check-points, and advising social-distancing which is actually good to help in terminating the transmission of this disease. Personally, it makes me sad because as a Grade 12 and a graduating student, there might be a chance that our graduation ceremony would be cancelled. I HOPE NOT. Oh, dear, Lord.
Okay, enough of the drama. This blog is about using the quarantine time wisely. So, instead of being stubborn and going out because we are not used to being at home for a very long time, let us just look for the bright side of it. As we are being locked in our homes, use this time for self-growth and development and for spending time with our families.
First, SELF-GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. I have a confession to make, most people who know me might think that I am contented and “insecurity” is not in my dictionary but to tell you frankly, yes, I am contented but I still have some insecurity, which I just see on social media. So when the enhanced quarantine started, I decide to uninstall all my social media applications and promised not to use these for a week. You will probably think it is so boring but mind you, it is more fun. I realized that there is more to life than being a slave of social media.
What are the things I do without social media and that help in my self-growth and development? Here, I read a lot. I continued writing my pending stories. I clean the house which I just do so often back then. I eat like a pig. I watch movies. I spend time with my family which I will be elaborating in the latter part of this blog. I started practicing stuffs about my passion which is fashion designing. And lastly, I assessed myself and started having less care for those people who are toxic and more care to those people who matter.
I insistently advise to try uninstalling all your social media applications and have “social media abstinence” for a week because personally, I enjoyed it and now I am going two weeks without social media and I think I will continue it for a long time. Most of you will surely think you can’t do it. I also said that before uninstalling my applications. I told myself that I can’t do it but that is the reason why I forced myself to do it because why on Earth can’t I do it? That’s only social media. I am better than being a person who depend her life on social media. Yes, social media is a platform for news, either fake or true, but hello, television and radio are also available. Just try it, readers. I assure you self-growth and development.
Next, SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY. Before COVID-19 pandemic occurred, I am already close to my family that is why I can say I am a “home person” because I enjoy being at house with my family. So, in this quarantine time, we must reduce our time with gadgets and social media. Wait, you probably think I am anti-social media but no, I just want to save you. HAHAHA. Kidding aside and going back, let us use this time to talk to our family, catch up with them, joke about different stuffs, and share ideas and thoughts. Do not depend on gadgets because if problems come, gadgets won’t have our backs, our families surely will.
I will just share about my precious times with my family. I love it when my parents make sure that we eat together. I love it when we are all lying in bed and watching television altogether. I love it when all of us are making fun of each other and fooling around. I love playing with my brothers. All in all, the best thing in life for me is spending time with my family. Because in life, none of those Facebook reactions, stories’ views, and Instagram and twitter likes will matter. What will matter are those moments where we shared laughters and stories with our family. No amount of money can buy that. Let us start it this quarantine time. Who knows maybe in the next days, God forbid, we will all be positive with COVID-19? At least, we have memories that will make us humans and that make our living unforgettable. Let us start spending time with our love ones.
Readers, let us keep safe. And, instead of always ranting of nonsense things, we better just follow rules so we can help in eradicating this disease. I pray for this pandemic to end soon. Again, take care. Always pray. I hope you learned something from this blog. Thank you for today. I had fun writing this. I hope you also have fun reading. Have a nice day! ‘Til the next blog. Mwa.
